Recently a Microsoft employee announced what they're working on for the new version of Windows Live Messenger, connections with GTalk, ICQ and AIM. ICQ and AIM is still in the works. But they claim they have a basic connection to the Google Talk network, which means you can use Google Talk inside of Windows Live Messenger, like the Yahoo! compatibility added a while ago.
