Challenges with unallocated space/partitions
Dear Vistaheads,
Wonder if you could offer some tips on how I should organise better my partitions. Using Disk Management, I was able to get rid of the Dell Backup D: partition which was created by Dell to accommodate the pre-installed Norton Save & Restore 2, and expand C: over the resulting unallocated space. However, I somehow ended up with unallocated space "to the left" of C: (see the screenshot).

Tried using Acronis Desk Director Suite 10.0 (Build 2160) to (a) resize C: to take over that unallocated space, (b) increase free space on C: at the expense of that unallocated space and (c) create a logical partition from that unallocated space and then merge it with C:. In every of the above three instances, re-boot was required (in fact, there were a couple of re-boots), at the end of which nothing was changed.
I realise that 8 Gb of unallocated space is not a big deal, but I felt challenged when Acronis Desk Director Suite could not help.
Thank you in advance for any ideas.
