Pin Mapped Drive Shortcut to Start Menu

I have mapped Desktop "ONE" to my Win Vista Ultimate Laptop, as drive "W". I am unable to pin a shortcut of this mapped drive to the top left portion of the start menu of the Laptop, using the method of "dragging it to the Start Button" and the method of "Shift Right Click on the shortcut" (Pin to the Start Menu is not a part of this short menu). I have been able to place the shortcut into "Quick Launch" and the "Programs" section of the Start Menu. Where in the registry are the "top left portion of the Start Menu" listed?
