Restore problems
Vista ultimate 64 bit. I was sat watching a movie last night it suddenly slowed, froze and then I got a black screen. I eventually had to restart and that is where problems began. Kaspersky needed to reinstall itself. This it did but could then not update itself. Then I tried system restore and it needed to go through chkdsk. This can up with an unecpected error but the system then booted normally. Kaspersky still causing problems. Today I took off kaspersky and put back AVG. System works fine but chkdsk still has an error and I tried a restore with Acronis true image from an image a week old. THis would cause a reboot as expected and then would go no further. I just booted back to normal screen.
Problem now is I do not trust what I have installed. I can here that Mac a callin and that is not the way to go but this was a new install a week ago and I am getting frustrated with all this.
