Vista - Mic Problems (Reading as Unavail)

As the title says.

Recently made the switch from XP to Vista -- The only thing different on the machine is the video card.. That should not be affecting my sound.

That being said - I can't seem to get my microphone to work - I can hear things fine but when it comes to talking, No one can hear me.

I've tried trouble shooting the device, updating drivers, disabling the integrated motherboard soundcard..

But with all that said, to no avail - The microphone still reads "Currently Unavailable" - I've tried to set it as default and nothing happens.

Any suggestions/fixes for this? I'd really like to get my Microphone working.

The sound card is a Razer Barracuda AC-1 gaming audio card - Thanks in Advance.

I'm having a similar problem i guess you could say. I can get my computer to recognize that there is a mic connected and it says that it is "working properly" but when i try to talk no one can hear me. I've tried tinkering with both the mic properties, plugging it into different ports, drivers, and have messed with the settings in the games in which i'm trying to use the mic. No luck so far. I also know the mic works perfectly fine because i've tried it out on my Win XP machine. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
