black screen of death
I have a nvidia 780a MB and a 9800gtx. I have had this problem since i assembled the computer months ago. I can't run the latest version of nvidia drivers due to crashes during full screen video and games and sometimes for no apparent reason. When using an old driver 7.15 it resolves some of the problems however crashes happen during full screen video after ten minutes or so. without warning the screen will go black and the monitor with go to standby. 3D applications work usually with the old driver but during fullscreen video artifacts show up and then its only a matter of time before the screen will shut off. sometimes the computer will be unresponsive however on at least one occation the sound from a video continued after the black screen. The video card is a recertify which is why i want to fine the cause before the 90 day warranty is up.
