Vista 64-bit Internet Connection Drops/Wireless Stays Connected

I have an HP dv5 laptop and it is running Vista 64-bit. Since I bought this laptop nearly 2 weeks ago I have noticed the internet connection dropping at random times and then connecting back. This is a major pain when I am trying to do work from home and get booted.

Here is what I have noticed:

1. This is an issue when I am wireless or directly hooked in
2. My XP desktop does not have this problem
3. I have tried the tweaks listed in all of the forums
4. It occurs more when I am downloading large files and using bandwidth

HP says it is a Vista issue, my ISP states that it is a Vista issue, and microsoft seems to think this is not an existing issue.

I see that this has been listed as an issue for over a year and would like to know if anyone has discovered the true solution to this problem.
