wireless adapter

Hi I have recently moved form XP to vista 64. I want use my wireless adapter that I use with XP. I appear to have installed the Atheros 64 driver OK (aquired from my SP) and shows as working OK in DM. The system does not detect any wireless networks? Does anyone have anidea what the problem could be? sorry if this has been raised before but I am a newbie around here!
