Were you able to resolve this? I'm having a similar problem and have spent three days trying to fix it. I have the same drive, but running Vista Home Premium (32). When I insert a DVD+R that I've burned in Vista, it is only *occasionally* readable. Most of the time it thinks it is blank. It reads fine all of the time on a Linux OS or in my DVD player. Other DVDs (e.g. commercial DVDs) are fine. The software I use to burn the CDs doesn't seem to make a difference-- I've tried Adobe Encore, Corel VideoStudio, Alcohol 120%, Windows DVD Maker...
