Windows Update - Getting 80070005 Error

I have Vista Ultimate with Extras and can not get Windows Update to work. I saw a way to rectify this by renaming the SoftwareDistribution directory. When trying to do that I get a permissions error.

As Administrator of the PC how can I get the Windows Update to work properly?

I hope someone can help.
