win mail to outlook Express

Running to OS's on separate drives (Vista & XP Pro).I have tried unsuccessfully to transfer E-mail from Vista Win Mail to XP Outlook Express. I have created folder on desktop with saved folders but when point to it , it is not recognized.Can anybody advise correct procedure?
