Vista SM bus controller fail to install

Hello:
I have installed Windows Vista Ultimate in my new PC and everything has gone well except in the section “Other devices” where she appears “Controller of bus SM” with an indication of failure in the installation.
Later on, I right click on the tag “Controller of bus SM” and on “Properties” obtaining the following data:
“The controllers for this device are not installed, Code (28).
“To return to install the controllers for this device, clicks on the tag “Reinstall controller.”
I tried to reinstall a pair of times the controller but without success.
Can somebody help me in this subject?
What is SM bus?
Can affect the scanner installation?

The smbus is a chip on your motherboard so it would be best to try and find the drivers from your board maker and try and re install them.
