Windows Vista Sleep problems

Greetings:

I have Windows Vista SP1 (64-bit) running on an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU with 8 GB of RAM.

My problem ... I use the Start Menu button to put the computer to sleep,
and it does ... for about 1-2 minutes ... then it spontaneously wakes up again.

I have tried to disable networking, viruscan, automatic updates of McAfee ... still the computer wakes up every time I put it to sleep.

I have checked online, and I see others have had problems with Vista and Sleep ... the ideas that I have seen I have tried ... to no effect.

Help Please!

Thanks for the advice ... the existing threads brought me up to speed on Vista and Sleep. My culprit was the Microsoft wireless keyboard/mouse ... when they are plugged in the computer wakes from sleep after 30 sec or so ... so, now I simply unplug the USB connection to the mouse/keyboard controller as soon as I hit the "Sleep" command ... and it stays asleep.

I appreciate the help. I'm looking forward to contributing to this forum.

Skype can also cause Vista to fail to sleep.

Exit Skype before invoking sleep.
