Restoring Easy Transfer MIG file

I originally had two Users, Me and Wife. My HD was crashing. Ergo...I Created a backup of my files/folders then created a SaveData.MIG with Easy Transfer to an external HD to preserve all options given in the menu, especially Users and Settings. My IT dept scraped the system and reinstalled Ultimate. They renamed the default Admin User for me but did not make User for my wife. Then they restored the backup with files/folders including Wife's. She shows up as a User in the Windows Explorer tree. However, she has no User Account/Logon. Questions: 1) will Easy Transfer allow me to pick items to restore? 2) if not, would it overwrite existing User Accounts/Login's and their File/Folder tree or would it create duplicates? Should I make a User Acct for Wife first, then do Easy Transfer? Whew! Thats alot of talk. Can you give me thread on how to complete the transfer from the external HD? Thanks.
