SOS need 2 get laptop back 2 factory default specs

I was lucky to get my laptop (Satellite A205 S4639 Vista Ultimate) back after having been stolen, the thief really messed it up, Programs and Features was completely blank and Device Manager full of yellow (!), as you can imagine functions and features were either not working or missing. Now I've got just about everything working again. Although from within Vista I'm getting a "you have so many days to enter a correct Produck Key", I go with the phone option and I give them the confirmation numbers and they give me a PK, I've had to do this 3 times and now a 4th time if I don't sort this out. For some reason the PK's that they're giving me aren't sticking. A DVD didn't come with it ofcourse, neither is there a repair option in the the F8 invironment and I'm not able to access the hidden Recovery Partition to restore the computer's factory-preinstalled software. By holding down "0" as I restart, instead I get the Memory Diagnostics Tool. I'm expecting one of you all will know a lot more about this than I do. Please give a hand.
