WLM problem

hi, i have a problem with WLM(windows live messenger) when i try to log on it pop's up a little window where it says: we couldn't log you on to live messenger, try again later. btw i't is a error code there to: 80048820.
i have tried all that msn help stuff but none of it works
i have checked the firewall and wlm has full acces rights... what should i do
when i try to register SSL - safetylibrary again (i know that i'ts probly typed wrong there but..)
it works, on the first one the fourth one, the fifth and the sevent. here is the list of all of them:

and now i'm gettin really pissed at vista.. and btw it,s not only wlm that cannot connect... windows update can't connect ether.

Hi mallarmist,

what have you tried when trying to fix this?

Have you tried to click on the Forget Me and re-entering your details?

Another thing would be to right click on the WLM icon and select Run As Administrator and see how it goes...

i tried alot of stuff... everything that is in the wlm electronic help... the firewall isn't blocking it and ie is not set in offline mode. i tryed what you sad and that didn't work either. i can make a list of what i have done if that can help u to find a sulotion. not even bashing the frontpanel helped, and thefore it must be somthing seriously wrong

I found this blog posting about your problem ( WongSK Blog: Window Live Messenger Can't Log In (80048820 error) ) but it only mentions 3 files.

I would give each of the 7 steps a try and see how you get on.
