uPDATE eRROR

I have just tried at least 20 times to update windows vista ultimate with KB935509 and evertime get the error code 8024200D. Does anyone know what this error code means. Can someone tell me why I'm getting this error code and what I need to do to get this update to load. It appears I'm not the only one that's having this problem and I hope someone knows how to fix this.

Hi Ron,

MS released this update as a pre-requisite for installing Vista SP1 from Windows update. If you download Vista SP1 as a standalone setup file you will not need this update. It is not an urgent or security related update.

If i were you I would click to ignore it. A Vista SP1 standalone will be easy to get when it arrives.

it seems this is the case for a lot of people. I am sure that less testing went into this update... but sure thats the way it goes

In your experience do you know whether Microsoft keep an eye out for failed updates?

This sort of issue can put a lot of users off Vista nd cause a lot of bad press.
