Deleted public documents folder
Hi,
Somehow during the process of moving the public document folder to a new partition I managed to delete it. Supid I know, especially when I ignored a "this can't be undone message". Simply copying one of the other public folders and renaming it does not create a folder with the same characteristics, in particular no location tab in the properties box. Does anyone know how to re-create a proper "public document" folder?

Brian

Hi Brian,
sorry for not getting back to you earlier...

The first thing to do is to create a new folder you want as your public folder.

Then follow the steps here Move the Public Folder in Windows Vista :: the How-To Geek to recreate the Public Key in the Registry.

Hope this helps, if you have any problems please get back to us,

regards

Steve

'Deleted public documents folder'
Steve,
Thanks for suggestion. The link you suggested seemed to be about moving rather than re-creating a new folder which has a location tab characteristic. However, you also attached older similar threads and one from Chad Harris had a solution which has worked - use my last system restore point! I've learned a valuable lesson here.
