Vistaheads Tip#17 - Change the action of the Vista Start Menu Power Button
Some bright spark in Microsoft decided that the default action for the Vista Power Button is to put the PC to Sleep. This is fine if you are one of those people how need their PC to Sleep. For a lot of people though they would like the PC to shutdown.
To change the settings for the Power Button Actions please perform the following.
1. Go to Control Panel
2. Select Power Options.
3. Goto Change Plan Settings and then Change Advanced Power Settings.
4. In the list window scroll down until you see "Power buttons and lid"
5. Expand Start menu power button.
6. Change the setting to either Sleep, Hibernate or Shut Down
Have Fun,
regards
Steve
