need help removing icon from desktop

Hi,I'm a 62 year old newbie to this site,and computers.I've 'done something'which I don't know how to undo.I have an ADVENT comp on preinstalled Vista Premium.It also came preinstalled with Power2Go.This is where the 'problem' is. I have hit on something and installed on the desk the 4 cube icon----AND CAN'T GET RID OF IT!
I've tried to use taskbar to 'hide' it.Did'nt work.Also tried 'hide when inactive'.Didn't work.
It is so large!
Anybody out there who can help me PLEASE.
Don't even know how to access any replies.
