AL2216W Acer monitor

I have an Acer AL 2216 W Monitor and I downloaded a driver from the Acer site for Vista 64 bit OS. BUT BUT BUT windows will not reconize the Acer monitor windows loads a generic monitor driver. What can I do to get windows to reconize my monitor?
