Removing Windows Photo Gallery

Is there a way to remove windows photo gallery? Every picture on my pc is on windows gallery and they have made a copy to my hard drive until I need room at which time "They" will remove it. I have a load of pictures and I was also planning on going back to sell on ebay which means more pictures. My pc is 1 month old, I started with 500 gb of space and I see I now have 325, between the upgrades and the pictures I won't last 6 months. I would prefer my own photo software or something else that doesn't take over my pc. Is it possible to remove it with out a downloaded uninstaller?
