Security update KB2779030 ... Fails every time

Hi all, I'm a newbie to this site and seeking your advice.

My operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 which has been regularly updated as and when required.

On 12/12/2012 Windows Update presented me with several 'important' updates, most of which successfully loaded but the Security update (KB2779030) failed with error code 80073712.

I have tried several times to load this update, but all attempts fail with the same error message. I have run the CHKDSK /F command a couple of times but this did not alter the outcome. I would be most grateful for any help you can provide
