Win. Explorer just stops working when I click on System; and System Restore isn't restoring anything...?
Hi, Vistaheads!
Yes, Windows Explorer persists in closing down right after I click on "System" under my Control Panel.
Also, though I have tried various restore points in System Restore, a pop-up box later floats up to tell me that
an "unspecified error" prevented System Restore
from restoring my system.
No, I have not added any new devices...
and I have run Malwarebytes Antimalware as well as MS Security Essentials.
No malware, spyware, or viruses detected even when I run a prolonged, complete scan.
Also have processed sfc /scannow (showed no integrity violations),
and chk/dsk.
Does anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong?
