Compter is looping after update fail

Hi there,
Hope you can be of any assistance;

Unfortunately we turned the computer off during an update proces.
Now when we startup the computer is in a 'loop'. Tryed all night just now, but still no luck.

Also startup in save mode with F8 didn't work, after loading a few files, he stops and turns back to the 'normal' startup and runs into the loop again.

I have recovery cd's but first would like to backup my data, mails etc.
