Desktop keeps locking up in Vista 64
I recently updated my XP 32 Home installation to Vista 64 Home Premium having bought the OS many years ago. I performed a clean install and all was ok before trying some new software:-

After installing Nero 11 suite, the desktop keeps locking up and I cannot access any icons: they do not highlight for starters. AVG reports no problems. However the quick launch icons work ok as do the start menu items. Similarly when on the internet, the page freezes.

Any help would be appreciated!
