Physical Memory Dumps
Originally I bought this laptop with Vista Basic installed on it. Last year (I think) my laptop did an automatic update and somehow didn't download a very important file that the system needed, so my laptop did not reboot when it tried to. I had to take it to get another OS installed on it because I could not find the instillation disc. The computer tech installed Vista Home Premium instead because he did not have Basic. Since then I have been dealing with my laptop doing random Physical Memory Dumps and then it will go into a CHK DSK sequence and then Restart completely. Once the computer has restarted there is a little window box that comes up stating that Windows was shut down unexpectedly and was now searching for solutions, if a solution to my problem became available I would be notified. All of this happens about 3 to 4 times a week and just the other day I found the ORIGINAL OS INSTILLATION DISK for VISTA BASIC.
My Question now is: Can I Re-Install Basic on my Laptop using the Original OS Installation Vista Basic Disc even though I have Vista Home Premium now? Will it screw my system up?

Reason: Because of Home Premium being installed now on my laptop, my laptop freezes up and runs slow/bogs down with the extra load.
