Vista Update freezes computer
My computer tried to update itself (via the automatic method) yesterday and today. The problem is that it freezes. At times, when I try to access the windows update, under control panel, at some point, it freezes (Not responding). Ctrl, alt, del does not work, it only freezes the computer (the mouse cursor just has the spinning circle). I have to physically shut down the computer.
Trying to go back even 5 days or to any restore point fails.
I have Vista x64 Service Pack 2. At some point, I get:
Login process has failed to create the security options dialog. X Failure - Security Options.
I looked at the Update log, it some how was able to download and install (all through the numerous shut downs) KB2506223, KB2506212, KB2509553. Right now it has failed on KB22510531.
The computer gets to about 53% before locking up.
Any suggestions?
I hate Vista!
