extern hard disc (INTENSO9)

I have a Notebook with windows vista, I bought an usb-2 harddisc and connected it to the computer but it does not show up when I click "computer"
but it is in the (Gerätemanager) device manager.
Can anybody help me so that I can work with the hard disc!
