Vista does not display correct resolution settings
Hi all,
I have recently bought a 22" screen which I hooked up to my PC. Vista starts sending out a picture in 1600x1200, even though the control settings in both Vista as well as for the graphics card are set correctly, i.e. 1680X1050.
The fix is simple but strange. I change to a different resolution - a wrong one! - and Vista will ask if I want to keep this setting. I choose no, and the image is now suddenly correctly set to 1680x1050, as if that were the previous setting it is now returning to. However, the thing is - it (Vista? Graphics Card driver?) doesn't remember. After power down, sleep mode or screen saver activation, it has forgotten how to work correctly and will resume in the wrong setting (1600x1200) and the exercise has to be repeated.
Drivers have been updated, cables have been checked. Who's got a clue what's wrong here?
