Vista does not boot
I'm using an ASUS F50 laptop with an Intel core 2 duo processor.
The problem is that when I power the laptop on, it gets to the ASUS screen and no farther. For anyone familiar with ASUS computers, the "ASUS sound" plays every 30 seconds or so - it seems that it's on a loop of sorts. Pressing F2 or Esc (the options for diagnostic screens I think) brings up one of the "black screens with text" that I've seen when booting up XP and such, but it apparently freezes halfway through without giving me any input options.
Holding F8 to try to run the laptop in safe mode does not work.
This computer has other hardware and software problems: - External audio jack does not turn off the internal sound when headphones/speakers etc are plugged in
- The Battery does not seem to hold a charge - Vista thinks the battery is charging, but it can't run even for a second without being plugged in
If I could provide any other pertinent information, just let me know.
