Cannot update windows
Hi
This is my first post so hopefully I will give all the infomation required for my enquiry.
My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1525 using Vista Home Premium SP2, I use AVG 9 free for my security side of things.
Now for my question, although everything has been OK up to now, the last windows update was on the 15/12/09 however when I attempted to carryout an update all I got was "Windows could not search for new updates" I also had an error code of 80072EFD.
I understand that this code indicates a failure to connect to the internet but I am already connected, well I can go on Goggle etc.
I believe that the AVG is probably the cause but I do not understand why, after all it has worked OK up to now.
Just another question, should I disable the Windows defender that I have on the computer? This also will not update at the moment.
