No drive letter assigned
Hello!

I have the following problem: my Vista Home Premium SP1 laptop does not assign a drive letter to my IRiver mp3 player (USB device). It is not showing in Explorer. The drive does show up in Disk Manager but without a drive letter. Right-clicking on it there does not give me the option to assign a drive letter, all I get is the 'help' option that is no use.

I don't have this problem on someone else's PC that runs XP, where the mp3 player shows up normally as a USB drive in Explorer.

Because it doesn't show up in Explorer I can't open it to add new music which is very frustrating.

I googled a lot for this problem but haven't found a solution. Can anyone help with this?

Many thanks!

We had a similar problem and eventually got it sorted out at a retail outlet and spares shop.
Originally we gave it to SalarO in Surrey but they where useless so we went to the main branch of Currys, there should be one near you.
