Vista x64 - Adding Printer using Parallel USB Adapter
I have a new x64 Windows Vista PC and have an old HP PSC 500 printer that I need to use. I had to buy a 25-pin female adapater to USB port, and have already installed the drivers for it.
Now, I need help with Adding a printer. When I go to Add a Printer, I select "Add a local printer".. then, "Use an existing port,"... which port am I supposed to select? (COM1 - 4 Serial ports, or one of the USB ports.. local or virtual)?
I've tried each option one by one and tried printing a test page...and none of them work. Should I have not even bought this adapter? Not sure if it's an adapter problem, an incompatibility issue with the x64 Vista... or something else. Any insight would be much appreciated!
Thanks!
