hello everyone i have recently been experiencing problems with windows updates and defender.
i started up my computer to find i had updates i proceeded to update and during the download of the files i recieved to error messages that appear as follows:
"Some updates were not installed
Failed:15 updates
Error(s) found:
Code 80244019 Windows Update encountered an unknown error.
Code 80072EFD Windows Update encountered an unknwon error."
Windows Defender has these problems
"The program can't check for definition updates
Error found: Code 0x80244019"
I understand that error 80244019 is related to malware of some sort.
i have tried running the scan located at this site:
Protection Center - Windows Live OneCare safety scanner
i reported no viruses or malware and only a handful of temporary internet problems which it claimed to fix

Edit: i also have noticed certain websites are not working for example if i try to go to this site
Microsoft Windows Update
two internet pages appear one stating internet explorer cannot display the webpage
the other directs me to google. i hope this info helps.
