Problems changing drive letter for external

I have been having issues with My Book World Edition external drive changing drive letters on me. I went into Device Manager > Computer Management > Disk Management but the drive isn't showing up. It is showing up if I view my Computer. My main issue is that I have all my music on the external drive and iTunes is programmed to use Drive K: for library access. Now the drive letter has changed to L:, but I cannot change it.

What are my options? Is there really no way to create a permanent letter for an external? Any help is appreciated. I've searched google up and down, but I can't seem to find anything to help my particular issue. Thanks.
