extract windows vista

i just bought a new hp desktop with vista home, and i wanted to format the HDD but they only provided the recovery disk. is there a way i can extract just the windows vista software skeleton and burn an new iso on another dvd thanks in advance

Vista was programmed with the objective to not be pirated. I am sure there are ways to extract the file, but it will be a pain and you would need a serial number to install it again.
At this point, you have two options. One, you can go to a store and buy Vista. Two, you can download a bittorrent program and download it. Beware, torrenting is illegal activity and could lead to you being sued. While it is not likely, I would still not advise this course of action.
