Taskbar arrow disappears, yahoo messenger stop responding
Hi all,
This is making me slightly nervous. I have a six month old vaio cr32 with vista home premium. I'm not quite sure what I did to make it act like this, but the following things have happened:
1. the little arrow on my taskbar that should hide my inactive icons has disappeared.
- I tried to fix this by unlocking the taskbar and unchecking and rechecking the 'hide inactive icons' check box and applying them both individually. No change.
2. yahoo messenger runs, signs me in and then... just freezes. it stops responding completely before it even loads my friends list
I've done a lot to try to fix this. I don't want to do a system restore or reformat. I'm hoping it sorts itself out but I haven't managed to find anyone anywhere with the disappearing arrow problem in vista, which I assume is linked to the programmes not working. Everything else runs fine (so far)... though I suspect they are slower than they should be. It's like something important isn't loading at startup.
