Annoying message when copying or moving files

Hi,

I am new to this forum so I wanted to start off by saying a huge hello to everyone!

Right, down to business, I have been using Vista since it landed pretty much and although there are some pretty excellent features that make it seem a world apart from XP there is still one annoying feature that bring it all crashing to earth. I am referring to those annoying timer messages that you get when you deal with large files, more specifically when you are copying or moving files you get the annoying message telling you how long its going to take etc, usually the counter is way off the mark. Is there anyway way of stopping this feature. I dual boot my machine with XP Pro and if I try and do the same procedure with XP its pretty flawless and takes a fraction of the time that this new super duper all singing all dancing vista takes.........

sorry to go on but its really really annoying me.
