\\computername is not accessible. You may not have access....?!?!?
I am getting seriously frustrated from trying to share my printer. I only want to share my printer. I have a desktop that has XP sp2 with the printer connected to it. It has Norton 360. My laptop has Vista and McAfee on it. I can't access my desktop from laptop. I try to enter the IP address of the desktop and it gives me the same message. I try to enter \\computername and it gives me the same message. I do a network map and it's not clickable. When I go start network on my laptop, I can see the desktop but when I click on it it gives me the same message. I've installed LLTD on the desktop with XP. Both are in the WORKGROUP workgroup. The usernames are the same, but the desktop account has no password. I tried regedit and changed the value. It didn't work. I don't know what else to do. I've been asking tons of questions, but no answers. Can someone please help me? It would be greatly appreciated.
