repair failed restore/rebuild bcd failed
Vista won't boot. no bootmgr file. Repair failed, repair/rebuild BCD failed.
"Cannot identify any windows installations." No problem with hard drive. This is an HP, so no disk other than a total restore from the restore disks is possible. The repair asks for hard drive drivers, but I don't know where they are. But as I searched for them, I could see all the files are still on the HD. How do I restore the system volume info or how can I backup the files from a cmd window? Will the system see USB ports in dos mode and how do I see which drive letter the backup HD is on? I download a repair disk file on another computer to get to
