Can't type certain capital letters

Suddenly I can't type the capital letters in the qwerty line. Only way is to either press the caps lock key first or to hold down the shift+the letter key I want for somewhere between 1 second and 5 seconds. Help!

I had the same problem. turn on caps lock press the shift key and turn off caps lock. That works for me.

Thanks. It does sort of work. But when I type say 3 P's in a row, it might miss one of them. Then it works again. Then it doesn't. Dell has sent me a new keyboard to try (machine is less than a year old). I'd be curious to know if your solution was a permanent one or if you have to 'refresh' its memory from time to time.

I have a HP and it works most of the time. It started after a vista update and really was a pain until I accidently fixed the problem with my fumble fingers. I rarely have to do it now, it seams like it only happens when I hit several keys in succession, like a macro. I had a friend with the same problem with a sony vio and he downloaded updated keyboard drivers to solve his problem.

Curious, isn't it? Appears to be a Vista related issue. It's on my wife's computer and she often rests a finger on a key while thinking resulting in a succession of unintended letters. Wonder if that has anything to do with it? Thanks for your thoughts.
