Total memory in Task manager is showing wrong

I have insatlled Vista home premium with SP 1 update and I have 4gb RAM in it and it is Detected in BIOS and system properties, but in task manager the Total memory is showing as 2078mb which is incorrect.

Also tried uninstalling Video driver,
tried to force enable/Disable PAE.

G'Day; You'll find that that is the unallocated memory, each app. has a certain memory allocated to it, the os, vista is a bit hungry, video card etc, the bios tells you how much you start with the task manager tells you how much is left when everything has it's allocation. 2gig is good, lot of room.

Not true, sorry. When Vista was designed, the max. RAM possible was 3Gb. So even if you have 4Gb it will still show only 3Gb. Proof: ask someone else who has 4Gb RAM. He'll tell you his system too only shows 3Gb RAM.

G'day : Nice to have a chat, True enough Vista will only "see" 3 GB ram, but your task manager is still showing available memory, 3 Gb less allocated memory, it will not take the 4th 100 gig into account.

Isn't that only true for Vista 32? I thought Vista 64 could see the full 4G.
