problems installing web cameras,computer wiz pls help!!

good day guys..hi,i just wanna ask some help from anyone knowledgeable enough for this problem of mine..i know there are lot of genuieses in here,so i wonder if you guys can guive me a hand..Heres the situation.I have a buffalo and an Elecom webcam bought from japan and i wanted to use it on my laptop,but when i tried to install the drivers,windows said [WINDOWS CANNOT INSTALL THE IMAGE ..in xP,EVEN IF MY WEBCAMERA IS MADE IN JAPAN,STILL I CAN INSTALL THE DRIVERS AND MAKE IT WORK,I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND WHY IN VISTA IT WOULDNT? EVEN IF IT IS COMPATIBLE WITH VISTA..thanks and God bless
