Vista Auto Drivers
Does anyone know how to disable Vista's auto drivers? I have a webcam for which I want to install the drivers manually, because every time I plug the cam into the USB, Vista starts automatically searching for drivers that aren't there, and the computer ends up hanging, so I have to manually turn OFF the power and restart. It's a huge problem; Vista is so arrogant it doesn't offer me the choice of manual installation.
Any suggestions?

Surely you should load your drivers from disc BEFORE you connect the webcam?

Elecom don't supply separate drivers, Robbie. I've been online with them all morning, but they are adamant that the Vista drivers should be sufficient.

So how will you manually load the drivers if Elecom don't supply them? They cannot be already on your machine as the auto search would have found them.

You may want to download proprietry drivers for your webcam. Take a look at this.

That tool should help you out. If not, then try this.
