Can I export calendar data to outlook 2000?

I've tried exporting to an .ics file (the only option I can see) & converting it via Excel to a .csv file (tried both DOS & Windows types). When I attempt to import that file into Outlook, I'm presented with a screen that calls for me to map fields from the file to be imprted to the Outlook categories. I can't figure this part out. All I get on the left pane (the fields to be imported) are designatins llike "field 1, field 2" etc & some headings like "version 2". Nothing that obviously should be mapped to a category like "start time" etc. Clicking the button for "default map" does nothing. The only choice then is to cancel, which takes back to the preceding dialog box, with a "finish" option. That seems to carry out some kind of action, which it describes as importing the 1 file into outlook calendar; however, the appointments don't show up.

Any advice out there?
