Confused..help!

Hey everyone. I need help with something here. So i had some friend's videos and movies saved on my computer. They were saved in "Documents". I deleted them a while back but they keep showing up as search results everytime I search for them on Start Search. They definitely have been deleted and so everytime I try clicking on the search results, a message comes up telling me to verify the location of these files since their location had been changed. I don't want these files showing up at all, even if just in the search. A friend of mine told me that these files were probably indexed since files saved in personal folders like Music, Documents, Pictures etc. are indexed by default. Is that correct? I was wondering if there is any way to prevent these files from showing up as search results due to personal reasons. Please help me out here and let me know if there is any way I can delete their indexed forms. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Which folder does your searech say these files are located? Is it simply that the deleted files are still in your deleted files bin. If so try emptying the bin.

The search shows them as being in the same folder (Documents) where they were originally saved. They're not in the recycle bin either. I had already deleted them from there.

Sophie, see if this helps: run your search for the unwanted files; when the list appears, try to open one of them; if it opens, delete it again (& do this for all the files); if it doesn't open, you may get an error message that says something like"..do you want to delete this shortcut?". Say yes. Run the same search again & keep deleting at each level till the stuff no longer appears in your search results.
Does this mean the files are really gone & some undelete utility won't retrieve them? I dunno, but at least the names won't be listed via the search function.
