Quicken Application Problem

I installed my quicken application on my new pc, and copied the data files from my old xp pc. Now when I try to use these files vista seems to keep using old files in the index. even after they have been deleted and new files copied from the old xp. I have tried modifing the index but am wary of stepping in on something i might mess up. /
