windows mail error message

Good morning, I have Windows Vista Home Premium. In Windows Mail I keep getting an error message : The connection the the server has failed. Account: "mail.bigpond.com", Server: "mail.bigpond.com", Protocol POP3, Port 110, Secure (SSL) No, Socket Error 10013, Error Number 0x800CCC0E.

As far as I know I have not done anything wrong. I have googled the error message and completely baffled myself. The only thing I can think of is an update has changed something. I have trend micro internet security. I am not very computer literate. Would be wonderful if someone could point me in the right direction, thanks and cheers, Stephie
