Mysterious Lag
My Vista partition recently had a user profile corruption requiring me to delete it and create a new one, I did this and there was no problem for a few weeks, but then it began to lag for disgustingly long period of time (in excess of five minutes for the task manager) however once I was able to check the system resources, the pu and ram usage never increased above a steady level of 0-2%, and 75% respectively.
I created a second account but it simply crashes and there is no recovery. I haven't got a clue what the problem is, but I don't really want to try the system recovery disks for my laptop as I have Ubuntu on my second partition where I am performing most of my common tasks.
If I can't find a work arround or a fix for this then the only solution I can see is to reformat and reinstall (my laptop has partitions holding the setup data.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite with 2 gigs ram, and a Intel centrino duo processor
